United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF)
New for 2017 - A new Youth Group Leadership Team! We welcome Jennifer Middleton, Kelly O'Rourke, Mike Walsh, Heather Morin, and Pastor Alex as they lead our youth through the coming year. NMUMC is proud of our youth, and excited that we have a very active group. From flocking lawns to car washes and more, our youth are active in their church community … and beyond. We help serve at Loaves & Fishes, New Milford’s food pantry. We assist with NMUMC’s own food barn, Our Daily Bread. Youth Group meets every other Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Check the calendar for our next meeting date, location, and event.
Youth Missions
Led by church members, our youth have enjoyed helping in our food pantry “Our Daily Bread,” overnights at the Church, selling Christmas trees for our United Methodist Men to use for scholarship and serving meals at the local soup kitchen “Loaves and Fishes.” In the last few years we have participated in summer mission trips through the Appalachian Service Project (ASP) a mission project helping families in need in Appalachia and U.M. ARMY in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Jersey. NMUMC believes through meaningful mission opportunities and fellowship, our youth will embrace the eternal truths of the Gospels in their lives-passing it on to the next generation.
